description
The village of Bourdigou was located by the sea, close to the Leucate-Barcarès resort. Made up of houses built from materials salvaged by the inhabitants, the village was a place of carefree freedom. Working-class local families moved there to take advantage of the first paid holidays. Le Bourdigou embodied the idea of freedom and holidays for all. When the state launched the coastal development project, the local people joined the resistance to save their village. Their struggle, compiled in this book, embodies the opposition to the Racine mission.
